My name is Sierra “JJ” Sedeno. I am 17 years old and live in York, Pennsylvania. As a senior, I’ve begun making plans to go to a college or university with an intended major of Music Production or Music Technology. Most of my time, especially in high school, has been spent immersed within the curricular performing arts. This includes being in choir every year, taking all three acting classes (as well as a tentative internship with the acting teacher), and accepting any opportunities for extracurricular work that I could, such as reading in Poetry Out Loud. Outside of the performing arts, I was a member of several clubs at my school prior to the pandemic, most of which empowered, educated, or simply entertained important communities of which I belong. However, with my clubs being inactive, I have taken up a job while continuing to create and maintain a healthy balance of school, social activities, and relaxation. To me, “For the Love of Black Girls” is a reminder that no matter what place or environment you are in, you are still cared for and loved even if you can't see it.
